Countybank Announces Expansion Into Greenville Market

GREENWOOD, SC — Countybank, a banking and financial services institution headquartered in Greenwood, South Carolina, announces plans to expand its Upstate operations by opening a fullservice financial center in downtown Greenville in June 2006. The office will be located at 201 West McBee Avenue. The organization’s local insurance office will relocate to the downtown address from its current location at 10 Parkway Commons Way in Greer.

Countybank’s financial center encompasses a holistic approach to financial management, with consumer and commercial banking, insurance, mortgage, investment and trust services accessible all at one location. Claude Robinson, a 27-year veteran of Countybank, will serve as the organization’s president in the Upstate area.

“We’re pleased to expand Countybank’s style of banking and financial services to the Greenville community,” said Robinson. “The rapid economic growth in this area, coupled with our focus on meeting the distinct financial needs of local business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals, makes the Greenville market a natural fit for our organization.”

Demonstrating its commitment to upholding the civic and cultural interests of its new market area, Countybank also has announced that it will serve for the next three years as title sponsor of Main Street Jazz, the popular weekly Friday night jazz series in downtown Greenville. Now in its 11th year, Main Street Jazz features live performances by some of today’s most renowned jazz musicians. “Main Street Jazz is a great example of what can happen when business and community leaders embrace and support a vibrant downtown environment,” said R. Thornwell Dunlap, III, president and CEO of Countybank. “Our organization has always taken its responsibility to uphold the communities we serve very seriously, and we’re happy to support this exciting event, which is so much a part of Greenville today.”

Established in 1933, Countybank and its family of financial services offers consumers and businesses access to a complete portfolio of financial management tools, including banking, mortgage, insurance, investment and trust services.
